When to Consider Buccal Segments
Buccal segments may be incorporated into lingual Brava treatment. Below are several scenarios where buccal segments can be beneficial. If you’re uncertain whether a buccal segment is appropriate for a specific case, our clinical team is available to review the situation and provide recommendations.
- To provide extra anchorage when closing extraction spaces, buccal segments can help prevent excessive dumping on teeth adjacent to the extraction site.
- To retract very facially displaced canines whether on the upper and the lower where the lingual Brava can't reach.
If you decide buccal segments should be part of treatment, include them in the treatment instructions when submitting the case in Planner.
