Incomplete or incorrect scans are the number 1 reason a case submission is paused. To avoid delays, follow these guidelines.

  • Scan both arches even if only treating one with Brava
  • Scan 5mm of gingiva on entire arch
  • Ensure solid incisal edges, all bonding surfaces are scanned and bite is in proper occlusion.
  • Scan the occlusal surface around the entire upper arch starting at the most distal molar. Turn off the wand and Disable A.I. Cleanup.
  • Continue scanning the lingual surface, buccal quadrants, the palate, bilateral bite (confirm patient is in their correct bite before starting the scan.
  • Review the scan and rescan if any of the following occur:
    • Missing bite segments
    • Bite is scanned only from one side
    • Bite discrepancy
    • Folds, rips, tears or openings
    • Saliva bubbles
    • Gingival obstacles
    • Overlapping scans
    • Post-processing errors
